After many days of deliberating I finally narrowed my choice down to MSI Cashmere Carrara and MSI Calacatta Vicenza. I brought a sample of each home today to test them and ran a knife along them both at the same pressure. The CC remained untouched but the CV scratched like a marble would. I'm so confused as they're both from MSI, they have identical labels on the back and they came from the same seller today. I want to place an order for CC tomorrow but would love to know if I have anything to fear with getting a 'soft' piece??

Anyone have experience with these? They're both on my short list, along with Cararra Grigio.

@crissa cook - did you end up getting the MSI Carrara Grigio?

Anyone who has put the Calacatta Vicenza, any regrets? I’m leaning towards that for my kitchen but I want my counter tops to be mostly white with just little specks of gray here and there. In some pictures I find Kitchens who have huge chunks of gray and very busy. Any opinions? I was also thinking about cashmere Carrara? Any help is appreciated

Which did you end up with? Having same dilemma

We’ve had MSI Cashmere Carrara Quartz countertops for about 4 months. I researched and agonized for 2 years before I decided on this product. I asked the company why choose it over honed marble. The reasons given were that it would be much more durable...would be very difficult to stain or scratch, etc. I baby these countertops as if they were very expensive fancy marble. No cutting on them, big cutting boards are on both sides of the kitchen, only use warm water to clean them, with a microfiber cloth, no electric appliances are used on top of them unless placed on a thick wooden cutting board..you get my drift. Well, today, in just the right sunlight, I found hundreds of scratches. They are especially where we place our coffee cups in the morning, and by the dishwasher where we stack plates and bowls or sort the forks and spoons. I decided to just gently push a plate on it and see what happened. Yes, it left a big scratch. I called MSI again, asked if a scratch should occur from doing this, was told no, but that they needed to contact the fabricator (who are very reputable) then I was transferred 3 times and then sent to a message center. We have a very small kitchen, but saved for years to be able to get new countertops and thought we had a durable product. Will update as soon as I hear from them.

Ouroldcottage, has MSI resolved your problem with the Cashmere Carrara you purchases?

@Crissa have you been happy with the arctic white? @ouroldcottage any news on what was resolved with MSI?

@CJ Bero Sorry - this may be stale - but YES - we have been super happy. No stains. My kids sit at the peninsula and play with slime, and markers, even Sharpies. Most stuff comes up with water or Clorox wipes. Stubborn stains come up with either Softscrub with bleach or non-acetone nail polish remover. Neither have affected the finish of the surface. Hardworking counters!
