Dimensions, finish would you recommend for fence?

I am thinking to do a fence in tigerwood. Would you recommend it? Did the finish hold up? How did you finish it? Is this 1 x4 or 1 x 6? Thanks!

    We used exterior rosewood varnish to protect the wood and planks used for the fence was 1x5 , we had to cut them longwise to have the square profile
