PAINT COLOR ISSUES - Help!

Hi all - we are remodeling our 1938 Colonial in Central Denver. Our contractor "certain he could match paint" ended up putting a yellow/too cream trim paint on all of our moulding. Now we are trying to find a wall color to mitigate some of the yellow cast, so chose - what we thought was a grey brown - very light...now due to these "matching capabilities" once again (fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me), we now have paint that is too blue. We cannot afford (because of course it is our fault) to repaint the house, so we are stuck with it. It's not horrible, just not what we wanted. We are now staining the floors this week. Is a darker brown stain going to help pull out the brown in the paint and mitigate the blue? Any suggestions about flooring stain color or other, helpful and appreciated....can't wait till this is over!
