Roman blinds are really the way to go with your window situation. If you need privacy or breeze, you could put stutters at the bottoms.

The trim around your door includes the smaller side window, vs your couch which defines the room starting near the door. That's the problem I see adding curtains on that wall. Consider adding texture to that wall via a woven piece of artwork between the window and lamp.

I would not hang curtains on that but if I did I would only do main window.

I was recently in the same dilemma with buying curtains for my son's home. I opted to leave the window by the door with just the blinds and curtain the other windows as well as leave the blinds. I like the idea submitted by constine to move the sectional and add the console table behind it to give each area more definition.

Constine: In regards to moving the couch over to right, I would but the wall is literally 2 feet from the lamp and the tv is on that wall as well. Moving the couch over would make it flush to the wall and tv. Thought of flipping the layout so the couch moves counter clockwise 90 degrees and put tv in the left wall, but lose the separation of a faux entry way.

Barbara: would a wooden sun clock work as added textured in between lamp and window area?

I think your sun clock might work - add iron or fabric for a visual break in texture to your walls. You won't know until you try it! Good luck!
