Looking at the picture looks like it's a natural vein.

Unfortunately, they are right! There's nothing that could be done.

These characteristics are part of the natural beauty of the stone and will not impair the function or durability of the granite.

We invite our customers to come to our warehouse to approve the slab and the way we will cut it.

Try to talk to your fabricator and see if there's anything they can do.

Maybe they have leftovers they could cut and replace this piece.

This is why you should always see and approve your granite slabs. I can understand your disapointment, but granite is a natural material. I think once you get things all back in place and start using your kitchen again that it won't jump out at you so much. I can see another vein to the left that runs at the same angle..probably just not as long.

I can see not just the bigger vein but several smaller ones running parallel to it, so it looks natural to me. I actually don't mind it: at least you can see it's real, not manufactured, stone. Stick a toaster on it and you'll forget about it soon enough.

Look, I'm sorry if I seem to make light of your problem - that wasn't my intent. I just see it as natural stone, and natural stone is going to have irregularities. That said, from what I understand, it is pretty common practice for people to choose their slabs individually. You might want to ask your vendor why you weren't given that opportunity.

If you are unhappy, your only recourse is to revisit the fabricator, select a slab that matches the rest, and INSPECT it before a cut and polish. When you do this, it is standard practice at any reputable stone shop, to also tape off/mark any area of the slab NOT to be used, if such an area exists within the slab. This is why buying counter tops in any material is best a very local- to- you endeavor. I'm sorry for your plight, but it's live with it or replace it.
