The tile looks terra cotta esque. White cabinets will be fine! It will seem a little Mediterranean!

Your floor is great. Experiment with some different whites. It'll look fresh without having to spend too much.

Why do you think the granite made the floor look worse? If you hate the floor, maybe change that first before changing the cabinets.

I think the movement in the granite and the darker tone in the granite doesn't go great with the floor. I'm not sure what color floor will go well with the granite which I do love. I really want to modernize the space without over spending.

I think the cabinets are too nice to paint white.
Your granite appears to have more cool grey tones. while the floor is more warm browns. I can't believe I am saying this, but your floor should be a grey tone with lots of bright white in it. Maybe some of those large scale 2x1 porcelain tiles.
You could just paint the island white and leave the rest of the cabinets dark wood.

Paint them off white... Will look great!!!

Sorry, but this is why people often (always?) suggest looking at a sample of any material you are planning to change in the room where it will be installed, and next to any other material which will be staying.

I could never live with that tile on the floor. Way too pinky/dark beige. I think your current cabinets are the best choice with that floor. Paint them Snowbound that is a light gray, and the floor will look worse IMO.

Right now your kitchen is very pretty. Before painting, consider pretty window treatments maybe with colors that tie the countertop and floor together and under cabinet lighting if you do not have it. You may want to talk to a lighting specialist to see if you just need to improve the lighting.

You can have you cabinets painted, many do so and are very happy with them. We recommend that you have it done professionally unless you are an experienced and patient DIY person. It is an arduous task. If you cannot afford to have the cabinets painted professionally, you could paint the island and see if you are up to the task. Wait 6 months after painting the island to take on the other cabinets and see how the paint job is holding up and if you are happy with your haniwork. Paint jobs always look good right after they are done - what is important is how they stand up over time.

Beverly what if I paint the walls which I just painted sea salt to pale oak and leave the cabinets and floor alone? It might tie it back together and save money.

I'm wondering if the floor can be painted?? At least until you can change it. Your cabinetry looks very nice. I would take a few things off of the counter; add a nice plant. I wonder if a light woven wood would look good on the window and, if so, should it be installed at the same height of the cabinet?? Maybe stone crafts person/designers will weigh in on these ideas

I'd like to see more close up pics of the cabinets, floor tile and stone on the counters before I make any recommendations.

It doesn't look right now because the cherry cabinets are clashing with the rust tiles. White cabinets would look fine with the floor, but you may find that replacing the tile would be less expensive than having the cabinets painted. I think your cabinets and granite would look great with a light colored tile floor, which would also lighten the room.

I think the cabinets and the floor tiles are very nice, what is lacking is bit more lighting around. I would like to suggest you to give more lighting near the cabinets and see if you will like that. eg- may be fix some lights at bottoms of upper half of the cabinets

If it was my house, I'd do everything I could to replace the floor. But then again, I hate tile floors. Still, I just don't think they work with the cabinets, painted or not.

I would leave the cabinets and change the floor. There are so many flooring possibilities so do a lot of leg work and use samples to check how things look together and what would fit your budget for now (maybe you'll find something you can live with and replace a few years down the line)I don't like the granite tops with the floor. I think you must have liked the granite so I would work with what you like. Maybe better pictures would show how the granite and floor blend but between the wood, floor, and counter tops something has to go.

The Sea Salt enhances the hues in the current floor. Don't think the Pale Oak would help. Can't make a recommendation without seeing better images of all the finishes, but here is the floor in warmer lighter tones. Reflects light better.

Match the floors to the counter tops. You just put in white/gray counters. That means the mid-tone orange floors are out of place. That's why you aren't happy. You could spend $7K to paint the cabinets and STILL have orange flooring that still clashes with the counters...or you could spend $7K on removing/replacing the flooring....and never have to see the floors again.

If you don't like dark cabinets, then go ahead and paint them. But realize the orange tiles will still be there and you will STILL need to remove them sometime in the very near future.

I found this tile! What do you think? Then if I paint the cabinets SW Snowbound it will look like a Houzz kitchen! Thoughts? Should I paint the island in a darker color for contrast?

Do do you like the wood at all? It seems like once the floor and counter match you could leave the wood. But if you want to go houzztastic, yes paint it white. I am not familiar with that exact color white so definitely double triple check that it is the right "temperature".

The problem I see is the color of the cabinets with the color of the floor.

I would paint the cabinets, but not white. I would paint them gray, specifically B.M. anchor gray. It is the wall which I would paint white, specifically B.M. Simply white.

I like gray gray with your tile floors and I like dark gray against white walls. I hope you consider the combination.

Pool Habit. I did have the wood floor continuation looked into. The contractor said they could not match the wood. I really don't like the choppiness of tile against wood but I think my latest picture I found a cool tile that would work with the countertop as it is in the right color scheme. Still hoping to paint the cabinets because I'm not in love with dark wood, but at least if I replace the tile it won't be an eyesore.

That seems like nonsense that they can't match the wood, but anyway. Another option would be to refinish the old wood and install new wood but I don't know how many rooms that would entail for you. If you want painted cabinets, go for it! I like the idea of a gray tile but I think there might be one that goes even better--the one you picked looks a little purple to me. It wouldn't even have to be "stone look" if it just matched the gray in your counters, which are great by the way!

Sorry but the tile you have found is too pink. Yes it matches a small sliver of your counter top...but it will read pink/beige once installed. The counter is a COOL tone. It "reads" white/gray (cool tones) from about 10 ft away.

The cabinets would have to be a white that matches the tones in the counter top...or better yet could be gray. That way you can still have a light/white floor without so much effort.

I think that white cabinets will go well with the new countertops. It will make the floor pop more though, I don't know if that's what you want.

Painting cabinets can be expensive and to do it right it must be done professionally. Nothing wrong with your kitchen, why not add a backsplash, nice window treatments maybe a combination of drapes and wooden blinds. I would replace stools. A nice bowl on the island.
Try some paint samples. Some nice counter accessories.

Have you ever seen tile taken out? Not pretty.
