I wanted to add a few more pictures of my home. I have a lot of beige walls. I want to add new lighting,

curtains, maybe some rugs. I need to put something on my walls. I'd like to see your suggestions!

Thank you, I do like the six light iron chandelier from Ethan Allan you posted, Danielle. I think my dilemma is....I was trying to go for a casual elegant look so I purchased a chandelier from Pier 1. I also bought two new pendants to hang over the island. The pendants are chrome, but I kind of want a ORB for the breakfast area. I want to have a cohesive feel....I'd like to find a light for the breakfast area that will fit the style. The electrician and the drapery person are coming today.

The furniture is mine, but I do plan to replace it as it is from the previous house.

I will be getting a different carpet. Not sure what size to get since it is such a large room. This one is 8X10. Once again, it was in the previous house and it worked because my space was smaller.

Such a beautiful home. I realize you'd like to snap your fingers and have it all complete and ready to just enjoy but....it doesn't work that way for any of us. Do take your time and formulate a plan using Houzz suggestions, magazine pics, Internet,etc.
I see touches of red and it looks great!

The pattern on bottom (really the middle) is what I'm thinking for the kitchen. Not sure how it will look with all my gray, but I really like it.

Seems everyone went the more frilly route. Leave it to me to go more rustic lol!

depending on your style here are some options.

I hate to say this but it is usually better to figure out the window treatments and lighting after you have selected your furniture rather than the other way around. I know you are excited and want to get things done fast but selecting drapes and lighting before key main furniture pieces are selected makes the rest of the process much more difficult. Since you are only "thinking" of casual elegance, I'd hate to see that the lighting and window treatments which are a minor part of the whole cohesive look be the items that define your style and rooms.. IMO.

Tedbixby, I do agree, that it will be harder to pick drapes and lighting before furniture. I have my dining room table that is new, I don't really want to keep the china cabinet and the buffet. I did buy a chandelier that I like but now that it's hung, I think it may be too small. I also had new pendants hung over my island. I think they are too high, but nothing I can do about that now :(.

Ok. So you got the lighting hung. Did you make any window treatment decisions?

You may want to considering choosing one room for us houzzers to focus on as you will probably get more responses and better direction by simplifying the whole process. Once one room is done than we can move onto the next one. And along the way, we get a better feel for your style and it makes it easier for all of us- including you.

If you decide to do this, let us know what room you want to focus on.

I didn't make a decision on window treatments. I think I was overwhelmed; she left several books with me. I did find a couple I like. I still like the one I posted earlier and I like one that has more gray and some yellow. Both of these would be for my kitchen. I'm learning more about my taste as well. I'm looking through the books and find beige patterns that I like but when I put it up to my beige wall, I don't like it. I think I need some color. I'm drawn to reds and oranges, I don't care for blue much.
