I agree Bethany. If you add the sidelight, the stoop/steps should be extended. You might want to try a light with a bit more presence and a taller plant/topiary in your planter.

so are you getting a new door then?? Either way all the trim work around the door needs to be replaced. That will make a difference. A larger porch light. maybe a stone enhancer for the cobbles? You can brush it on (it's like a sealer but it deepens the color). It's a stone color enhancer meant for masonry.

Yes, definitely a new door and trim! This trim looks especially horrible because there was a storm door that they have already removed. This is the proposed door and light (but with clear glass rather than stained glass pattern). I really like the idea of a bigger light! I had never noticed that it is under-sized and it totally is!

I like his idea of having a light on the right wall. Put it right on the second step.

If you have a sidelight, be sure to have obscure glass installed.
