Bianco

The bianco looks too busy to me. Makes me think of formica counters. The second one (lagoon) looks understated and elegant. Just my $.02.

I've seen Lagoon installed in a kitchen with white cabinets and it is very nice. Not too busy and not taupe at all. The Bianco's pattern is very busy and doesn't look at all like real marble.

Hi @loridowney, thank you for considering Silestone. We agree with the other posters that Blano Orion is a little busier with the veining than Lagoon, but they are both very pretty white colors. We don't think Lagoon would be too taupe colored for white cabinetry. In fact, this is one of our most popular colors and many of the installs we have seen have white cabinets.

I installed Blanco Orion in August 2015 and love it...particularly the real white background. I do not find it that busy but the photo you provided is much busier than mine. Has Silestone changed their Blanco Orion pattern?

Both are lovely, consider the size of your counters and what your floor looks like.

Do you have a sample of your white cabinets? There are a million shades of white, some being warmer and some being cooler. That could make a difference.

When you pick a less busy countertop you gain more freedom to experiment and add more details to your kitchen space. If you pick a more busy surface, you'll get a wonderful focus point. So this is really a question you need to answer because both Bianco and Lagoon are beautiful. I would opt for Lagoon.

Blanco Orion is at the top of my list as is Lusso, therefore. curious as to which counter you choose and if you are happy with it.

Your photos have been very helpful. I like how you brightened the space with turquoise subway tile. Backsplash will be decided after counter is installed. One big decision at a time is my motto. Your non-busy tile advice is well taken. In the last two days, I have decided that Blanco Orion has the whiter background which is the look that I desire. My cabinets are white and the floor is honey oak.

Similar to yours, I have a corner sink. I ordered samples of Blanco and Snowy Ibiza from Silestone as some Houzzers like Snowy. However, it seems to be a Home Depot pattern and Lowes has my quartz order, but fabricator has not yet been out to measure. I've attached Lowes sample of Orion in my kitchen. My all white dishes go nicely with it. Thanks joanh123!

Today I casually walked through Home Depot's kitchen department and saw more similar color Silestone's quartz. HD gave me two tiny samples, and as Murphy's Law would have it, the two are HD's exclusive. I am going to order larger samples from Silestone. Since the new counter is costing thousands, obviously, I want to pick out what I like best. Houzz has been invaluable and I find comfort in knowing that I am not the only one who is indecisive on this matter. Yes, I will be doing before and after photos, but it appears that it will be weeks away. Thanks!

Do you think lagoon would go with an alabaster/off white kitchen cabinet? They are a warm white.

It's possible, but you can only make that decision with current samples of each material. Lighting can change everything, and your description of warm/off white and alabaster really can't convey the actual color. Get the samples and see for yourself in your room with your lighting.

We put statuario and its so cool gray that it makes cabinet look yellowish

Diana is giving you really important advice. There is NO WAY to see how the countertop will look with your white cabinets without a sample in your house. Lay it FLAT, not vertically (unless it was going to also be your backsplash, which you’ve said it will not be).
Samples in stores are subject to store lighting.

I really like the Orion photo. But it’s photographed vertically, so I assume that when horizontal it looks great.
Don’t rush, whatever you do!

Thanks for the great advice. We are short on time as the builder is changing out a statuario counter they put in because it clashes with the off white cabinets. We can’t change the cabinets, but trying to find a decent counter to tone down the off white and go with the room. I am going to get a new photo of the samples in the house and next to the alabaster white cabinets

I like blanco from lowes, however, after much consideration it was not my final choice. Although it is a warm white, it was too white for my kitchen and overall had a plain look. Perhaps, you can visit a distributor or kitchen showrooms and perhaps seeing various quartz in bigger samples will help you decide. If you are unsure, stall contractor until you find something you love and can visualize.

Sean G what did you end up going with and do you have pictures? I saw desert silver and loved it but have found it impossible to find pictures of it actually installed a kitchen. Thanks!
