do you need shades? if so i would do sea grass or wooden, no curtains for at least the living room

If I do get shades I will get one with a remote so I don't have to lean over the back of the couch everyday to raise the blinds.... so the curtains will alway be pulled back.. idk I kinda feel like the whole wall / 4 windows need some kind of curtains... nothing heavy though ...

I don't understand how people keep their furniture from fading without shades. I'd get a pro involved to give you some ideas. Good luck

If your curtains are going to be always open, I think that a pair of neutral curtains, probably in a gray or sheerwould go well with your furniture.

When I work with someone needing window treatments I always ask them to think about 3 main concerns ...

Do you need privacy (feeling of security goes in this category)?

Do you need light filtering or room darkening?

Do you need for decorating? ...or any combination of the 3 concerns.

I do not recommend long drapes in front of the sofa unless they will be stationary and for decorative purpose only. Also, the sofa should not be right up against the wall if you have drapes.

Roman Shades are a great way to address all 3 concerns. I agree with downbytheriver...I think woven wood shades are very pretty. You can get a light filtering liner option too.

Wishing you a brightly colored day,

    Mary

I think the seagrass fold up shade with a hanging valance hung higher than the window :)

I love everyone's idea! I don't need privacy but I would said light filtering would be nice.. do you think my hardware should be big or simple?
@ Kaleidoscope Hi my curtains would be mostly for decorating purposes I don't need privacy so any blind would be ok but I need motorize blinds for behind my sectional. In The living room we have a TV hanging on the wall opposite of my windows so I guess light filtering blinds will be ok? My couch is sitting about 9in from the window so I hope my curtains won't look to crowded.

@ vrrg85 Hi it's funny you say that because that is kinda what I had on these windows before we Remodeled. Different color though... I never had shades I guess that's why I'm wondering if I need shades or not.

@ having fun Hi I love curtains and sheers to that's what I had before so do you think I should not go with Cellular blinds? And just go with sheers and curtains?

hi angie, if you go with the cellular blinds, i would still go with at least sheers over them. most generally feel that valances and anything going across the top is out. though i just saw them again in house beautiful or elle decor. I just always feel it softens and gives a more homey feel.

I would do drapery, even if it's just stationary side panels.
It will frame your windows beautifully. Mount the rod all the way up to the crown molding and extend the rod 6-10" beyond the window frame on either side.
If you do shades, do outside mounted all the way up to the drapery rod. It will give the illusion of a taller window.
