i enjoy tile in an intrinsically humid environment... it always feels dry under foot, instead of humid/sticky. and you dont need to worry about sand and grit causing micro-scratches.

we have porcelain tile throughout most of our (RI) beach home, wood in the dining room, living room, and the stairs which are a large feature as the main living area is on the second floor. if i had it to do again, i'd have it all be tile.

Laminate can work - but not in 'splash zone' areas. That means you will need a different floor in the kitchen and possibly in the entrance ways (depending on how close to the beach and how wet your feet will be upon entering the condo).

A vinyl plank in the same look would be a better option than laminate. The most appropriate floor would be porcelain tile. If you like the look of driftwood (very hot right now) then purchasing wood-look tiles in the colour/style you like is pretty easy to do (most wood-look tile right now comes in grays).

Laminate is my third choice for you. Vinyl planks or porcelain tiles would be my first choices - and they are dead even in ranking.
