Definately worth the wait. Originally we were going to refinish the parquet flooring for what we thought were "practical" reasons, with the wait we thought it through more carefully and re-did the floors to character Hickory. So glad we did. As for the rest, now that it's done, yes, it was worth the wait. I appreciate it greatly. As for the stainless, I was a little afraid of the upkeep but I love them, not difficult to keep clean at all.

The island is actually an antique store counter that we already had, we re-painted it to match the new kitchen. The wood on the top is the original wood. Granite is typhoon bordeaux - it is even more beautiful in person.

You are right - dream kitchen it is! Enjoy the many moments ahead - at least another 11 years of them!

Beautiful. I am getting hickory Tuscany for the kitchen flooring. One question for u is this engineered floor and if so did u glue it down or use click and lock? Is it making any cracking sound. Thanks

The island paint colour is Benjamin Moore Tapenade - not a mint in person a mid green on the olive tones perhaps.
The hickory floor is 3/4" solid hardwood, not engineered. It is tongue and groove, no glue. No cracking sounds.
The subway tile is ceramic, hand cast so it has a bit of a wave to it and crackles showing.

Looked long and hard for lighting. Pendants over island and sink came from West Elm. Drum Chandelier over table (which you can't really see in this picture) from overstock.com. Shipped to Canada and was still a good deal.

I should mention that this custom kitchen was done by Lloyd Scott Enterprises out of Alma, Ontario. Granite from Top Shop in London, Ontario, Flooring from Grand River Flooring, Tile from Casa Bella in Kitchener.

Did you have to remove the subfloor after removing the wood? Any tips on doing this?

den135 we didn't remove the subfloor, just re-screwed it to get rid of the old creaks.
