Finally ready to start the kitchen

Had family illness that postponed this largest part of the entire house remodel. My husband and I have drawn up the latest of 2 kitchen layout options. The major difference is where to place the stove. I like one and he the other. Can someone please draw up a computer picture of them so we can make a final decision? Have tried this in the past without luck. Its a miracle I can figure out how to post on here. Have gotten so many good ideas from you'all that I have incorporated into this. Any further suggestions would be really appreciated also. thanks

    I
think the left aisle is too narrow in both plans, but definitely in the
second one. I would flip the island putting the trash nearer the range.
You don't have much prep space on the island, either way. Have you
considered putting the DW and clean-up sink on the perimeter and a prep
sink on the island?A blank, if someone wants to rearrange the plan:

ETA, I drew the sink incorrectly as 36". :(

Agree with Mama goose- is there a specific reason that in the second layout the sink is not along the office side wall? That one side is a little tight ( with counter overhangs down to 28". ) and the work area around the sink could use a little room. Is it so you can have a conversation while working? ( I enjoy socializing while cooking also)

The design can be much, much better - look at MamaGoose's designs. Each one has pros and cons compared to the other, so pick the one you prefer.

If it were me, I'd probably pick the first one - but I would make sure the aisle b/w the sink counter and the island was at least 45" - true aisle width - taking into account the 1.5" counter overhang past the 24" deep cabinets on each side. (That 30" aisle you show is really 27", btw, after accounting for 1.5" on each side: 30" - 1.5" - 1.5" = 27")

I have 46" now and would not want it any narrower - there's just enough room to pass b/w an open DW door and the end of the peninsula on the other side of the aisle.

Sorry this reply is so late. Thank you mama goose for your great work. I know you all are right about the walkway being narrow. I guess I always dreamed of standing at the sink n talking to people in the living room instead of having my back to them. Thought briefly about the stove in the island but 1) I'm more often at the sink 2) exhaust would be in my face. Sometimes I guess you want something so bad you are blind to the obvious bad points. I'll put the DW n sink on the office wall n keep the island empty. Thank you all so much for you advise n mama goose for the layouts.

Very pretty and bright--the plate rack makes a nice focal point. Love the colors, especially the way the drill coordinates with the counter top. ;)

Thank you for returning to show us the finished kitchen. Enjoy!
