Picking porch colours

My question to the world of houzz resulted in a wonderful front porch. Now I am struggling with porch colours. I already have 3 colours on the house, so I think I need to be careful. The windows are black. The trim is a slate grey and the siding a taupe. We are going to paint the entire porch except under the peak, which we intend to leave cedar once installed. The facia will continue black from the rest of the house and the soffit is the slate grey.

I think I have to stick with the colours on the house, but not sure? (The second photo makes the siding look pink. I can assure it is not. :) )

All suggestions are appreciated.

I don’t like the lattice or the steps you need a proper set of steps in that spot those look awful I think you have to be careful you are trying to make this house something it is not so I would do black steps and railing and IMO the closed in front of the porch is too heavy looking so maybe black steel railing with cedar

there too The lattice can be mostly covered with plantings when you get to work on the landscaping those 2 little plant pots need to go and eventually be replaced with tall skinny black ones .I would use the siding color for the porch

Are those slats running horizontal across the porch staying???

Wow. The steps are temporary, guess I should have said. They will be replaced with a light grey coloured stone. Black iron railing. We plan on planting across the front to hide the lattice. Probably grasses or box wood. The horizontal slats are staying. We had hoped there would have been bigger spaces between them, but the building code prevented that.

IMO as I stated I think that wall on the porch closes in the porch and I would change that if I offended you I am sorry but when you ask for advice on here you often get our opinion about other things we notice and now I will add this house does not suit stone steps they are to heavy looking for a small house

I agree with Patricia. Also, the permanent steps need to be wider.

Debbie, Patricia's advice is all spot on...the delivery is harsh; look beyond that.

Really you think I am harsh just because I am honest my clients actually like that I say what I think it saves a lot of time and effort on both sides to say what you think.I do not do it in a mean way and never want to offend anyone

That is the problem with the texting/messaging/commenting means of communication now. I was accused of being rude recently.

    Love your house!
I agree with Patricia that porch enclosure in the front is too heavy, blocking the front of the house, not enhancing it. The horizontal section could be moved to the left side of house at ground level to hide the ac unit, balancing the front porch. If railings go up, make them black with wider steps at entry. Make sure you seal the wood ceiling.

Thank you all for your advice. We have not completed the front yard nor the steps. It really was just a paint question, but I see now that the "all suggestions welcome", opened the gate. I am not at all bothered that the suggestions encompassed more than paint and appreciate the tips. Once we have passed inspection, we had planned on lowering the height of the porch railing. We may now also consider removing some of the slats to open it up. Adding a small fence to mirror the railing will be considered to hide the A/C. We were just going to use plantings, but like the wood suggestion.

So, the plan is to paint the railing the same taupe as the siding. We will make the steps (stone or wood and yes, wider) the black. I am thinking the columns should be the slate grey? Would the lattice be black like the steps, taupe or grey? And the floor of the porch???

Patricia, when your words are "I don't like", "those look awful", and "need to go", of course it's harsh and hurts feelings. Helpful honest suggestions don't need to sound like that.
