cultured stone veneer is a lightweight concrete product that is molded and colored to look like stone, also known as manufactured stone. Stone is the solid piece that has weight and needs a foundation. Stone veneer can be a real stone cut down into a tile like facade that only needs to be supported like tile with adhesive behind and grout between. Stone veneer can be manufactured or cultured - so check - there is a real difference in how they wear and many of the colors of the cultured or manufactured stones are not very good / don't hold up to sunlight well.
