kitchen help!

what type of hardware should I use with raised panel natural maple cabinetry. It will have white speckled counters and dark tile flooring. The kitchen is about a quarter of a large room (It couldn't be any bigger due to the layout of the room) and I want the kitchen to really stand out

What style of room do you prefer...the maple cabinets sound transitional/contemporary..so wire pulls or bar pulls....or just plain knobs? What is the finish of the light fixtures and the faucets...are the appliances stainless or white or black? All these need to be taken into consideration before selecting hardware.

Appliances are stainless, lighting is unchosen as yet. Hoping for transitional look
