Doing a faux finish doesn't mean you don't need artwork on the walls. Just a regular paint color will be less expensive to install and easier to change. Faux finish is pretty outdated. You can paint your walls a fairly neutral color and then select almost any furnishings to work with the neutral colors.

As Beverly said...just because it has a faux finish doesn't mean it doesn't need something more.

I'd skip the faux finish and spend the money on a really good--original/unique--fabric hanging (not from a décor store!).

An oriental/middle eastern rug, a batik quilt, an antique flag of some sort, etc. Get something with a story or a significance to you, something that makes it--and you, by association--interesting.
