What is the rug in pic #1? Will you be posting rug photos? I like the fabric on the left with the red geometric.

    Decoenthusiaste: here is the rug

Yes, I like it, but make sure it is large enough for the sofa's front feet to sit on with some extending past it on each side and for any secondary seating piece to also have its front feet on.

Its large enough. I was worried about the flowers on the rug
Matching the square boxes. If they would clash. Thank u

I don't think the rug and that pillow will work together; agree with Lunada, although I like both of them.

Love the rug but agree with the others about the pillows. The two styles don't look good together.

Love this fabric and the color palette and organic pattern are a perfect complimet to the rug. Also love the quilted texture. Need to see a photo of the chair plus a photo of the fabric draped over the chair in order to get a sense of the scale of the pattern. Headed in the right direction.

Mspat, the rug is good, mix it with geometrical, you are on the right track. But find a fabric which is not so thin and has a light beige background, the beige in the rug. Get some paint chips matching the rug colors exactly. Then go out and find the pillow fabric, like I said, a thicker weave with a geometrical pattern.

No, your second fabric will not be a good match with the rug. You have to go with a different, geometrical, pattern, not try to match it.
Ok soo confuse but I will look gor a geometric patteren

I have seen a striped pillow with the same colors in the rug. Stripes would look nice for the chair upholstery. I think a lattice pattern would work also. Add a couple of solid pillows and you'll be set. Love your colors.

Just noticed the blue in the rug. I would use some of that color in one of the fabrics.

I found this fabric but not sure

Ok - I'm gonna chime in here too !!!
As the rug is going to be difficult to beat - it's lovely - I would be very tempted to go for two low rectangular cushions in a plain dark ( same as table and chairs) colour !! I know my specialty is overall space design rather than colours - but just thought I'd throw it out there for you !!!
    Hope you don't mind !!

Hmm... I think I like the stripes best for the chair upholstery. Would keep the accent pillows nice and simple, pulling colours from the rug, no strong patterns.

Couple of patterns that could look good (not together) Maybe pair something like these with the red in the rug.
Thank u I will keep trying

I love the stripe for a chair are you recovering one? I don't see why you couldn't do complimenting pillows on the couch and then throw in a solid as well.
This is close to the stripe I was talking about.
I really like the stripes with the rug thank u all so much.
    Ok

I love stripes with the rug, but I like the subtle tones of your first stripe much better. The butter yellow in this one above is really loud.

    Hi mspat,
that rug is difficult to match with fabrics, but I've tried to find some combinations for you here:
    http://www.joann.com/home-decor-print-fabric-smc-designs-gabriel-persimmon/zprd_11280641a/

The biggest swatch I thought could be the fabric for the chair, the smaller ones for pillows. Made two possible combinations (at least, I think they could work, but you never know until you see the fabric for real):

Mspat, The first stripe with the pale blue, the brown and the mellow red is a perfect match to your rug. The second one is too loud and doesn't have enough of the light beige in it.
Carolins' combination is really nice, except the stripe isn't as good as your first stripe.

Let me redeem myself, I took the valance out of the window to get rid of the yellow glow. It looks nothing like the first pic. See if this is better.
It's hard to believe that it's the same fabric. That's what photos with bad lighting do for colours. I'm looking at the mood board I made and keep thinking, the beige won't work with the beige sofa, but the sofa is actually more brown I think. And hope.

Wow, what a difference! So now it looks like it would also work with the rug. Put it on the rug and see if it doesn't overwhelm it.

carolins I like the fabrics on your board and think we are on the same track. I just pulled up a couple of quick fabrics more for the design and partially for the color. I just love the stripe mixed with the smaller prints. I think that was the problem with the first picks was the pattern was too large and would have made better rugs than pillows. They were really pretty material. About my valance, when everyone was talking about how loud and unmatched it was I had to take a second look. I did it on my phone and didn't realize how it turned out. mspat I love that second fabric you picked, not for a match for the rug but maybe for somewhere else in your home. It would make a beautiful chair.

I was just using it as an example of a matching stripe. Unfortunately it is my kitchen window valance and not material for sale in a fabric store. I think I ordered it ready made from Country Curtains.
