If you want to add to the general upkeep of the exterior then paint the brick but IMO I would leave it as for the porch once that huge plant is removed so you actually see the porch add some planters along the top ledge some colorful chairs I would change the door and remove the screen door if you need the screen get a phantom one so you don’t hide the door the door could be in a bright color

That's a good idea with the planters. I can't wait until we close and i can rip that bush out. Its hard to look at... I agree with the plan for the door. Door is actually in really good shape. Was thinking about matching the ceiling of the porch / car port to the door color. Would you paint the porch at all?

I love your porch! It has a lot of potential. It looks like it's already a pale blue, what about kicking the ceiling color up a little and doing something punchy like this porch ceiling:

You could also paint the white trims of your home a different color, and I think you would be surprised with how big a difference that would make. There are some great outdoor rugs that can make an area like this, especially as it's covered, seem more like a living area and give it a little face lift without a major investment. Other small impactful changes could be switching out the exterior light, painting or changing the stair railings, or getting a more decorative storm / screen door.

In regards to windows, you should look into tilt and turn windows. They're very common in Europe and are getting some traction here in the US as well. The repetition of the pattern of panes in the existing windows is a beautiful touch, so maybe find some that have visual interest like that as well.

I will be replacing windows and removing the storm door. Door actually has a very nice finish on the interior and i'll just be sanding / painting a vibrant color as others have suggested. Just wonder if I should match the vibrant color to the ceiling of the porch as DBDG suggested

Installing a craftsman door with sidelights would be a bit more major, but would take this house to the next level.

That picture from grover is great. I could see the front door going both ways, but I might lean slightly toward painting the door the same color as the trims - that charcoal is so classic - and focusing color on the landscaping and the ceiling. Those little splashes and the discovery of the porch ceiling would create some exceptional moments as you enter your home.

I'm not a designer...but heres what I think! Wouldn't paint brick but agree with using charcoal on trims. couldn't go wrong with that. Front door would be nice with rich (deep) brown stain or even the right "rusty" red and new light/hardware is a nice finishing touch. A toned down version of DGBC's blue for ceiling would be striking.
