I agree with the other comments. Your selections work well together. It is a clean and modern look. The arabesque tiles have and will continue to be in style.

@Emily - the shower floor will be the same as the rest of the bathroom floor as we are planning on doing a curbless shower. We wanted to use the same flooring throughout to make the room feel larger. The vanity is white and the long white piece in front of the tiles is the backsplash that came with the countertop. It is Corian called Carrera

What is the shower floor tile? And what waterproofing system will the contractor use behind the tile?

@Premier - I wasn't planning on using a border. I was just going to let the grout line be the transition. The tiles are the same thickness.

@live_wire_oak - the shower floor will be the same larger tile as the rest of the bathroom floor. Curbless shower with a linear drain and the contractor is going to use Kerdi

The arabesque, in my opinion, doesn't work with the super modern and sleek larger tiles.

Don't do an accent strip/stripe out of anything unless you want to quickly date the brand new shower you're paying big bucks to install.

Accents and borders can be made with pencil tile.

@jeckup What's the larger tile in you photo you are using? It look really nice!

Are you on a slab or joists? And what size is the shower? Has the contractor discussed the capillary break with you?

@live wire - Joists. The shower will be approx. 46" x 67" open concept. The contractor has not mentioned capillary break

@blaze - the tile is actually just from Lowe's. Del Conca Milano. I must have had dozens of different tiles here from various tile and specialty stores but these were the only ones that I liked the tone/composition of the colour AND most importantly it did not show dried soap marks or hair spray marks or footprints, etc. I bought a whole box of tile and put them on the floor to 'test' them to make sure they didn't show everything.

@Emily I did ask at the tile store about that and they were pretty confident if it was not a polished tile it would be ok in the shower. I do have a nice 2x2 marble hex picked out for just the standing part of the shower as a backup. What I should do is wet down some tiles and try walking on them to see about the slippage. Thanks!

I will blaze. Good luck finding those tiles. I believe at the store they were called Evolution Light Grey. The name I gave earlier is the name used on the website.

I love your arabesque tile. It will break up all the rectangles. are you using it in your niche as well? Have them do a stainless steel Schulter trim around your niche if you do. would look really nice w/the gray.

Thanks for saying that Beth. That is what I liked about the arabesque as well. The niche is going to be hidden in a pony wall so I don't need to worry about keeping it looking neat. The schulter trim is a great idea!

lol. i'm doing the same in my redo. pony wall niche for all the stuff you don't want to be seen! But I'm also doing a larger one for shampoos and such. Planned n getting the nice pump dispensers for them. With all the crap that we have, I'm getting big niches ! We are doing a very large shower 7X4, so it will look ok w/more than one.

is that a carrara arabesque? where did you order it? or was this at HD too

Wow that is a nice big shower Beth. Yes the arabesque I found at HD. Apparently it had been a special order that someone changed their mind so I grabbed all that they had lol. And yes it is marble. Good luck with your reno

I'd consider using a Schluter profile to border your deco band, it will look much cleaner with one, than without .. : )
