What is this room supposed to be and what bookcase are you thinking about putting there?

Below is one of our many renovations. It should answer the drapery question and it should help with what a bookshelf would look like.

This is first floor open concept. Kitchen, living, dining and then this space. Since we posted, we have flipped our dining table and the empty space. We are stuck on cabinet/bookcase but unsure past that.

Also, drapes are largest sold without custom made. We don't mind as they dont get dirty on bottom.

Anyone know how to edit original post and add more pics?

if you put your drapes on clip rings they'll hang to the perfect length. honestly, doing them 'high water pants' length defeats all your efforts.

Update: Our open floor concept is rectangle. 1. Very large sectional for tv viewing. 2. Kitchen with large island. 3. Dining room table. 4. Wide open with new pics and across from kitchen.

We now have a larger wall for custom cabinet/bookcase. We are wondering if we should do a couch set or chaise lounger or something else?


Thoughts?

I think a free standing bookcase makes more sense than a built-in there.
