help... I've decided to do my surround tub walls with this white subway tile that has a little texture. grout will be dark grey/black. my vanity is black with white top (pic 1). now need help with the floor.
option 1. the variable shades of grey flanks (see pic 3)
option 2. the light wood flank (top of pic 2)
option 3. hexagon dark grey black (pic 2)
option 4. almost black long flanks (bottom of pic 2)

also...what do ppl use as the base? regular wood floor base or tile?

thanks!

It looks like you have narrowed it down to some great options. I would go with lighter tone on the floor to offset back vanity. Depending on how deep is the black and how light is the grey, your grey choices could work too. Think if you would like a lighter look or a bit heavier. I hope this helps - best of luck - this will look very pretty!

stark black tile shows everything, aka dirt. You are better off with gray

Also, btw it doesn't have to be white, black or gray. It can be any color with black and white, such as blue. Blue with silver would make it pretty. Let me know if you're open to this

Your option 1 with pic 3 looks best.

you are so right! black would be a nightmare. OK so 3rd pic or light brown woody look. totally open to other options.

These are tiles and look like wood. The colour said are various grey's. However in photo does not show that.

I like the different gray planks. I'm almost doing the same colors in my bathroom remodel. I'm doing the 3" black hex for my shower floor. Carrara herringbone on the bathroom floor (which btw, would be a great pic for you too) or, have you looked at the cement tiles? Here are mine, shown w/french oak flooring. (I did the oak flooring on my vaulted ceiling and am doing the black/white cement tiles for one wall in my shower. If I had more, I would have done them on the floor).

I love this one with the black and gold accents. And a touch of natural wood.

other options..white basketweave or black basketweave

Beth I love love love ur tiles. it will look amazing. I like the other black n white too. I initially had this in mind but hubby wasn't crazy bout it. I will pay it another visit and convince him! I was going to do this for my half bath. I'm debating between black white or blue for that bathroom

I really like either one. That blue is pretty, especially if you have a white cabinet and tile. If you look up encaustic floor tile on here, there are plenty of pics. Try Pinterest too. show him some of those. I've also see ceramic look alikes, but don't know how they look in person.

I like the basketweave Beth showed. I also really like the tile just posted in black and white.

Like the light grey plank...it's less busy and will hide specks of towel fluff etc which will really show on black. I am not a fan of black grout. Have used light grey grout with white subways and it looks great.

thanks everyone. I decided on the light wood floor as hubby wouldn't go for a black and white graphic floor. I'm happy with it
