Just a quick heads up.... I'm in AZ for the winter this year. Seeing all the snow across the country .... I send sympathy. I love snow but had so much trouble with the Old Arthur Ritis last year I came back here for the winter. I admit it is nit very Christmasy looking but I does feel a lot better.

Original Author9 years agoDan you are fast!! I have everything in my stocking but gotta get it in the box and sealed, then I'll be ready to send Christmas Cheer!!!
Beth can you send me your address of where you want your box to go as I need to send it to the person who got your name. Thanks!
Everyone have a beautiful day and remember Christmas Cheer is in the air as we celebrate the birth of Jesus.

If I don't stay on top of things and get them done, they might get put on the back burner, and I may not realize what I've done until too late. BUT, if I act quickly and get things done, then I can relax and work my way down my list of projects, knowing everything is okay.
It's a LOT less stress that way, y'know?
I'm slow. Wanted to see who I was sending before packing things up.
We are in the High Desert so we still do get some snow but it generally does not last long.Last year in MO we did not get any but the cold and damp had me limping all winter. This year I'm out hiking almost every day
Break time.....that's me in the lower right. The dog is waiting for us to either get up and go, or give her treats. Either makes her happy

My package has left this cold tundra area. Should arrive Saturday.
By the way, I'm over this cold and snow. A high of 11 tomorrow with high winds coming. I've just got to go figure out how many more days til spring. Margo
- 9 years ago
The first day of Spring is March 20th. If we all band together, we can make it.
The wind chill temp is supposed to be around -9 today, but there isn't more than a dusting of snow today, so that's the good news. BRRR!!!! I'm ready for winter to go away, permanently.

Anyone close on bingo? Gonna have a veggie or flower dinner. BTW, has anyone ate flowers before? I see them in recipes but never tried them... Something to ponder..
Have a beautiful day!

Tammy, those last three helped me, but I'm still 7 words away from hollering...lol!
I've heard of sugared rose petals and candied violets. I've eaten orange daylily petals but didn't find them to my taste. Let us know how your meal turns out!
Have a great day!

My stocking from SANTA MARGO arrived today!!!
Here's what I found in my stocking...

Notice that little blue-eyed mouse? Well, right after taking this picture, it was stolen by MarcAnthony, and apparently he's decide to be greedy and keep it to himself. Kittens!
After unwrapping the presents, I found peppermint-scented soap (which will be going with me on my New Year's Eve weekend), a snowman kitchen towel (now hanging in the kitchen), a hershey's santa candy bar, santa twix, seed bags, coloring sticky notes, pens and pencils for coloring, ground cover zinnias, sweet dumpling squash, summer squash, and two types of zinnias! Woo-hoo!!!
Margo, I love coloring, thank you for the supplies! Coloring helps me calm my brain down and reset it, thank you, thank you!!
I'll let you know how the peppermint soap works in a couple of weekends...
And for the whole thing... THANK YOU! It was a great bundle of gifts!
And no, I'm not forgetting the ornaments. I've saved the best for last...lol! Margo applied a snowman to a cinnamon stick for a handmade ornament, and also included a small trowel with a snowman on it, which I'm using as a second ornament. Thank you for both!!!

Original Author9 years agoDan, the clerk took my name and phone number and the tracking number and she is gonna talk to the postmaster and have them help track to see what happened as I haven't gotten it. She said the back room is piled high in packages and I asked could someone else got it and returned it since it wasn't theirs.. She said that they would check the lost and found also. Hopefully I will get it soon.

I received my overflowing Christmas stocking from Beth today and spent sometime describing and listing everything and for some reason, it is not on here. I have also tried posting a picture from my phone but no luck. I have some things to get done so I promise if the post doesn't show up later that I will relist the fabulous contents on Saturday. Thank you Beth, it was fantastic. Margo
- 9 years ago
Margo, no problem. Just happy to know it arrived safely.
Planned to start wintersowing yesterday but it rained all day. ( i use the picnic table as my work bench). Unusual but welcome for here in the desert. Now, if it will just turn to SNOW here and give some other areas a break.....that will be perfect.

Original Author9 years agolast modified: 9 years agoSo excited hubby went to post office to mail some more cards out for me and check on the mail. I GOT MY STOCKING!! YAY!!!!

Several packs of seeds that I can't wait to plant in spring. Okra, tomatoes, kale, cucumbers, Siberian wild flowers, and black eyes susans. The cutest Christmas card and a red stocking. Merry Christmas everyone!- 9 years ago
My Package arrived from Faye yesterday and I love it! Many thanks for such a fun and thoughtfully stuffed stocking
A very pretty stocking too. Faye did you make/trim that? A pretty hand made card and a nice gold 2016 tree ornament. Aloe infused socks. A favorite treat that i sometimes buy for myself....this year I did not. Great choice. My plantables were Purple glad bulbs, white Spanish bluebells and seeds for Japanese morning glory,Snowdrift Marigolds and Chippendale Zinnias. All will be great choices for additions to my gardens.
There was a rain gauge, moisture indicator sticks for pots and an adorable tea towel that says Sun, Sand and a drink in my hand. Perfect for the hot sunny AZ Desert garden.
Two cute kits for decorating mason jars of Christmas treats, Santa and a reindeer.
Two types of candy, Chocolate and peppermint ( gone but I put the package in the photo anyway)
Hope I did not forget anything. Great fun. One of my favorite swaps every year.
I have been enjoying the company of folks in this group through many changes of address through the past approximately 18 years. I know I was in Kodiak in '98 and had been a member for a year or two. So many memories of great trades and super special people. Thanks and Happy Holidays to all.
Tammy, I'm glad you got it! Everything happens for a reason, and apparently you weren't supposed to open your stocking until now...lol! I had a lot of fun putting it all together for you, and yep, I even had "help" putting all those pompoms into the ball. MarcAnthony did a good job, don't you think?
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!! - 9 years agoHere's the contents of my adorable penguin stocking. Beth sent Christmas socks, (wearing them right now), a container with cream caramels, truffles, 5 teabags, 2 kitchen towels, set of two lip balms, snowman ornament, also a pretty angel ornament pinned to the stockings, polar bear stuffed animal, great smelling candle, a journal and utility clips. Merry Christmas to all my garden friends. Thankyou for all your friendships and support through all the years. May you be blessed with the greatest gardens in 2017. I know I will. Margo

Beth,
I am glad you liked your stocking. I did do the embellishments on the stocking. I am sorry the ornament was not handmade but store bought. With work this year I did not have time to make anything. I am glad you like it.
