Hi, I'm not a designer ... I've my own ongoing thread in the Decorating forum, looking for ideas ... just sharing my thoughts.

Can you elaborate on the two pieces of furniture that are already there? Built-in or movables? Also I presume it is a window to the right of the main door? Also there are two walls (or are they more like pillars?) extending into the living room - a photo would help visualize better.

The arrangement you already have with the dining table and chairs is good. When you "section" off that portion of the room it leaves you with a pretty nice area to furnish with one long sofa, two chairs ...

Take a look at the link above which gives you some ideas on the look to emulate. I think the "Menlo park full remodel" shows the look you could go for. It doesn't have to be one long sofa - two loveseats placed along the wall separated by an end table would work as well.

I would go ahead and start adding the furniture to the drawing to visualize how it would look like.

It appears to me that the furniture items you have entered in your rendering are too large in scale for the scale of the room rendering.

Elite Interiors... Our furniture is actually just really big. The dining table + chairs is big, as is the hutch on the left side. Right now when I go into my living room, I feel that the dining table set almost fills up half the room.

andyv_tx I did put a long sofa in the rendering, but it was too long. It isnt clear on the drawing I put, but there is maybe 9 feet from the table to the window. Also, when I put another chair to complement a long sofa, the chair is basically in the middle of the room i.e. not much space around it to talk through.
