I stare at the card trick pattern and it seems it would be much easier to make as a strip quilt set on the diagonal. That way, you could eliminate all the hsts and qsts, which make me nervous (new quilter).

I bought a bunch of gingham check fabric at an estate sale last weekend. I thought it would make a nice old-fashioned quilt like a Card Trick. Then I discovered it had all those triangles. I keep looking at it and think it could be make with strips.
