While the clients wanted to maintain the clean white on white look, they knew the flat panel kitchen looked dated and lacked personality and warmth.
The new designed maintained white cabinetry but incorporated recessed paneled door fronts to give it a more furniture appeal. To open the kitchen to the dining area without sacrificing storage, the center upper cabinet was removed and replaced with glass shelves.
A white on white kitchen is appealing but not done correctly can appear cold and sterile. To bring warmth to the space the floors were re-finished in a darker, richer tone and the counter-tops were done in a contrasting black stone.
