Scary Banisters

We are currently searching for a new home and we found one we really love expect for one thing, the scary banisters. We have two small children (3&5) and the thought of them falling from this banister terrifies me. I don't think my older daughter would try anything but my younger son can be mischievous . We love everything else about the house....any thoughts?
