Planning a kitchen reno and will be using IKEA Bodbyn cabinets - white in kitchen, grey in adjacent butlers pantry. Trying to decide between countertops - Zodiac London Sky or Modena Calacatta Gold (see pic). We love the drama of the Calacatta but worry that it will 'date' the kitchen in our forever home. London Sky is a much safer choice, but given the current trends towards marble-look counters, this may also date but is less risky. I should add too that we will have a waterfall edge on our peninsula and the Calacatta can be closely matched as in the pic to allow veining to continue over the edge. Help?
