Would you sand and restain the 1949 mahogany or paint it? It is a mud room- laundry room. The bench seat is worm wood maple. Either way I plan to stain the bench top. The dividers under the bench still need some sort of trim piece to beef them up and some paneling pieces need to be added (we did some wall re arranging).

If I stain it I was thinking to make the walls yellow to match the Back Living Room which also has a lot of wood in it.

Here are some stains I am playing with and the Maize yellow color behind them. Actually my yellow is 20% darker than the darkest example but the plaster color match guy has it right now.

Here is one of my inspiration photos from Houzz. It isn't a laundry but it does have mahogany wainscoting and it has red oak flooring like we will put back in our laundry. (sad story)

If I paint it I would use the same color as the pantry/kitchen cabinets. Which is a an off white color. Pardon the lack of back splash.

Or I would use a yellow color scheme with a complementing darker yellow . Below is a Houzz photo of paneling painted darker than the walls.

Yes I need a shelf or cabinetry over the washer and dryer. And I have to build or buy a platform to hide the washer hook up. Plus getting on my knees to get the laundry out is getting old.
