Faux fireplace inspiration

What did you do to the loft area in first photo. I have same issue. I ripped out carpet and put in darker wood flooring and repainted to a light color.

The tv is at the right height now...about face-high to a seated adult....for comfortable viewing. Place it on a console cabinet 20-30” high.
With dark flooring and gray walls, you need to bring in some light: light fixtures and some lighter colors. Avoid black or dark brown furniture and a don’t put a sectional in a relatively small space. You may like individual reclining chairs in fabric or leather, and a coordinated color sofa or two. Look at furniture with slim vertical arms and firm pillows because they don’t take up as much space physically or visually. Once you have the furniture and have found the best arrangement for it, you can add tables which fit. Then, measure the open space between the seating furniture and the tv wall and buy an area rug which is at least two feet wider and two feet longer than those measurements so that the front part of all seating pieces will be upon the rug. Last, you can hang your art or buy some which you like. “Art” can include actual paintings, reproductions, prints, photo art, and wall sculpture. Don’t overload the walls.
