I have a Miele stick vacuum that I bought about 10 years ago. When the top handle is removed it looks a lot like a dust buster, although it may weigh a bit more. It offers strong suction and the disposable bags and filters do a great job of containing dust, etc. Ours was supplied with a small wand attachment, but it is too short to clean our dryer so we bought a Miele flexi crevice nozzel to extend its reach.

I recently bought two of these hand vacs from Amazon last month and I could not be more pleased. These are not like the old-fashioned dustbusters! They have a built-in extension wand, and a little flip up brush for scrubbing lint and hair up.
