My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

The tile reminds me of the texture of shou sugi ban. Anyone know the brand & pattern?

    I don't know the brand but I can tell you we did some shou sugi ban work elsewhere in the house - see the entry door photos

    The door is beautiful. We are building a passive house (PHIUS certified, we hope) I'm currently teaching myself the technique also. I'm about halfway through the cedar siding. I'll use the less-than-perfect ones for the interior after a good cleanup. Wish there were more sustainable builders in KY. Like me, we're all learning as we go on this project.
