Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter is a great color. It would go well with your backsplash and dark wood cabinets. It really is like a greige, depending on the lighting and time of day it can be gray or beige color.

You have to make up sample boards to put in the space and view at various times of the day. Your artificial and natural light in the space will turn colors in crazy ways. With your dark cabinets I would be careful of grays, because they can go purple on you. What other furniture will be placed in this space? Wood tones? Fabrics?

Thank you! Only glitch is my painter's preference is Sherwin Williams. I heard a lot of good things about BM Revere Pewter. Do you know of any color in SW which is closer to Revere Pewter?

SW Accessible Beige is nice soft leans to beige color. Revere Pewter is more beige than gray in most lights.

Hi Flo! I will keep that in mind. I have a dining table which matches dark cabinets in the Kitchen and have gray leather couches. We have light creamish tiles on the entire 1st floor. I plan to buy big area rugs for the great room and install plantation shutters for the windows. I am very nervous about paint colors because I don't want the walls with purple undertones!!!

I'm not a lady but the backsplash is busy. I do not believe people should choose this type of tile for their kitchen or any space for that matter. It's just so dominating. But it's up there so that's that. You can still have a lovely kitchen. lol

Pick the lightest color gray of the backsplash -- i would suggest BM gray owl -- it is a very subtle gray. I have it in my entire living room and my dining room and I have yet to find a reason not to love seeing it everyday. Also put in consideration of What color your floors are and your furnitures in the closest room. What accents would you like to bring in.

lol sorry! I take back the lady term back! I agree with you about the backsplash :(. I was more inclined towards marble white but somehow ended up with this! This is our 1st home and I guess got it all wrong.

Anoosha- I don't think you got it wrong at all – the right color paint, simple accessories, and a few things on the counters I think your kitchen will be beautiful! May help to know name of your countertop and/or picture. New construction is always a work in progress – the end result will be beautiful!

New construction is very stressful and so hard to visualize the end result when selecting everything. I am in the same boat right now trying to decide on countertops and backsplash for new house we are building. I actually posted on Houzz for advice earlier in the week. Very stressed trying to make final decision – meeting with our builder on Monday and I am supposed to have my final decision made. Yikes!

Yes SW will match it. I also like knitting needles from sherwin Williams although i still prefer gray owl because of the green undertones vs purple. The undertones on that gray in your backsplash is more green I believe-- I have exact same ones from my previous house but I had maple cabinets vs your black-- your backsplash says modern, nothing wrong about it if that is your style-- those are not cheap either so you will have to learn to love them -- what is your countertop color

@Junee - I agree. Backsplash cost us around $3500! We had to select from builder's design center. I wish I found this site when we were selecting our options. I would have had more insight!. It is not bad, just needs some getting used to like you said :). My counter color has beige/brown/red/blank in it. I will check out kinitting needles, thank you!

Be sure to put up some nice polished nickel or chrome pulls on those cabinets to bring the look together. It looks unfinished - which I am sure it is. Live with the backsplash for a while.

SW Alpaca may be worth looking at too, a bit more like your colour choice and perhaps a bit deeper than agreeable gray

Irene - Nice color...looks like it leans towards beige more? I like the contrast color too...I am looking for some dark colors to use on a accent wall which goes with main color.
