I like the white idea and thought maybe doing navy blue on the shutters.

We are moving from Ohio and have never owned a pool. This is all new to us.

The pool cover is common in Florida which can get much more rain than SO CA.

As for the color of your house, drive the neighborhood and see what appeals to you. Typically, I'd go with a color you see in your natural environment - greens; blues with white.

Where in FL are you? we have a vacation home in Punta Gorda Isles and the view out the back looks very similar. My advice is drive around the neighborhood and look for houses that you like the color scheme with the same roof color. Take a few pics of different options.

Also think about getting the lanai and roof powered washed - you wont believe the difference the cleaning makes. Will help with your color selection

I would stay with nautical colors like White House, navy door and dark gray accent trim. Your greenery will stand out that way.

Yes, we are definitely getting everything power washed prior to painting. The house is on Marco Island. We have spent a lot of time driving around and looking at house colors. It seems like they all look the same. We wanted something different. I have no design style at all. :-(

Mary, that sounds beautiful. We had thought about doing a like grey with white trim and a teal door but I have seen grey stucco that just looks awful.

Your house has Spanish influence. The trim is totally inappropriate.. I can see a beautiful DARK walnut rustic garage door. What are you wanting the front to look like?

I would not do a gray house because it would just blend especially if it is stucco. And it would show every bump or imperfection. But you can't go wrong w a White House in telling you with a gray trim and a bright door color of your choice like blue green or navy ec....
