I'm replacing the drawer boxes in my kitchen cabinets and pantry. The new drawers are birch (very light colored wood) and the the cabinet faces, doors and interiors are painted white. Can I just seal them with polyurethane and call it a day or do I have to paint the drawers (inside and outside) white?

(Yes, I know I don't "have" to do anything but the question is will it look like a half-assed job if I don't do them white...)
