Curtains for DR

We just got our heirloom rug for our dining room and love the look! So the next step is getting rid of the horrendous curtains from the previous owners. What color/style would work here? We don't like dark colors so I'd like so stay away from burgundy and possibly navy. Thanks for your help! P.S. I am aware that the picture is hung too high and will lower it when I get a chance.

Before you do anything center the rug and the table on the centerline of the windows. I'm betting there might even be a light fixture above the table location that needs to be taken into consideration when arranging your furniture.

I have selected two colors from the rug to consider for your drapery panels. I would also change out your blinds from white to a walnut espresso color.
