Yes Flo my old home you so graciously helped me with was all Burkes Luxury Vinyl plank. It had a 20 or 30 year warranty and was indestructible almost. I love the look and feel of my new floor here better. Just not quite as practical. Your clients will really be happy. I had excellent installers.

I really like the subtle neutral pattern..looks great in both rooms and will look very pretty on fireplace wall...I love natural woven shades paired with drapes so that would be my suggestion instead of matching fabric shades..I think it may look outdated?? Very pretty home! Here are a few examples..I think a warm tone like your kitchen cabinets would look beautiful!

Notice there is no room for drapes beside windows before encroaching on the fireplace wall. A bit dangerous for drapery.

Yes I only have about 6 inches and then I hit the stacked fireplace. The room is dark so I want to keep it light. But I don't like the bright light coming in on your eyes.

I am torn between a neutral Roman Shades and the fabric in the draperies used to make the Roman shades. I do need light to come in. My ceilings are painted the same color as the walls through out the house. Darkened the home, but like it. The builder did it this way.

Windows are very narrow 29 inches and very tall. The window on the left is shorter as the wall is shorter

Unlined natural woven shades would be great..they still allow filtered light to come in....I would only hang one drapery panel on the side of window not flanking the fireplace....with woven shades...otherwise your panels should be half width on each side....

Omg just realized you have to different height windows..that is crazy..have never seen that before...well I think woven shades are the best choice in this case...

Ok the owner of the Shade Company just came out. She said she doesn't sell draperies but when seeing in person it would look odd to have Roman shades, that the theme should be carried out through out. She also said with the window being 96 inches by 29 wide it would be a large heavy stack at the top. She recommended the white faux wood blinds to match the attached dining room and kitchen. And 1 stacked close panel on each side to soften and complete the look. My home is dark and these windows are dark. I am really in a delema.she also suggested moving the TV over a little and flanking 1 side of the fireplace. OK what do you all think. She could make alot more money by selling me Roman or woven shades

Also the windows are different heights because they go up with the ceiling

So surprised she would suggest faux wood blinds my windows are half the height of yours and they get very heavy and hard to pull all the way up..would you keep them down all the time and just open and close the louvers? Maybe do plantation shutters.

you have a sloped ceiling there so I would go with blinds of some sort but pick the grey of the pattern in the curtains .

I think using any drapery panels on those windows, even on one side, will highlight the size difference and look odd. Maybe that company doesn't make the type of roman shades you should use, and that's why she suggested wood blinds. Wood blinds are very heavy and will have a tall stack at the top on windows of that size.

They do all types. She asked me what I wanted regarding light. I only want privacy at night. I will never pull the blinds up only open. She thinks with the close proximity to the rest since I like the matched look and want to keep my wooded view over the house in back in would be happier. We even talked about duet honeycomb shades, but I want to see out. I originally thought I didn't want anything on the windows, but it seems like it's unfinished. The blinds are faux wood. Yes they will be heavy, but match the rest of the house. This whole process has been hard. I usually know exactly what I want. I have another custom Drapery lady coming on Friday. The shade lady said it would block my Redwood tree view to put up.I like everyone racking their brains for me. It is an odd window arrangement for sure

Lots of ideas Nancy. Here is one more.

First, paint your walls a darker color using the hue of the stone in your fireplace but not matching exactly so it still stands out a bit, maybe one shade level. Then put roman shades inside the frames of each window and you could even do up and down roman shades in any fabric you want. At certain times of day, you could have them open at the top and other times open from the bottom up. I still think your drapery fabric would be very nice with this combination. This would Highlight the vaulted ceiling. It is a nice feature of the room. Let the eye rise. Very good Feng Shui. You might be surprised how the dark colored walls will actually visually "recede" and make the room feel larger! I am not sure the representative has much product to offer so I think I would cross them off your list of sources.

I like the wall color darker. The fancy window Drapery lady is coming out Friday morning. I have plenty of curtains to do the shades. I like the up down idea too. I like Feng shui design. I don't think I will order the faux wood blinds yet. This seems harder than my old living room, which was gruelling. My friend suggestion was the blinds with valances. That seems dated. Thanks for your input I really appreciate it.

THE WINDOWS AT 55 INCHES FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE glass to the vinyl frames. What if I left the tops open, the glass, and put the curtain rods at the same height across. The stack of the fabric with grommets are only 5 inches. What if I left the tops of the windows bare. I would see the trees that I love, and still have light. I may not or may do blinds too? I could even put fancy film on Windows to look like fancy glass in clear

This is a possibility. Discuss with drapery person, but I remain concerned about the fireplace and drapery nearby. You just don't have any room for that drapery to fall. What I like is the idea of using your drapes, but the grommet style also takes up more space from the wall, usually 4-5" which I am not crazy about. Let me marinate overnight on this and you meet with drapery person and we will convene again tomorrow after you get her input. Should be interesting.

Yes Nancy I think you are thinking outside the box....would only leave top open on tall right window...so that the drapes can hang as high as your left window...that is the only way it will help balance out the look. Not sure about a dark wall it will make the windows accent even more and notice the height difference to even more extreme? I would keep it light and let the fireplace be the focal point.

Ok Flo and Home Interiors with ease. I am liking the idea of matching to the lowest window. The grommet panel is very small stacked. Maybe I am on to something. The custom, but expensive lol Drapery lady will be here tomorrow on Friday. I wish I could bring you both in my rooms. Darn it anyway. I think since these fold nicely the drapes could work. As long as they stay tidy. lol No flying drapes into fireplace. Not a good thing. Going to look for some more ideas for you.

Yes Drapery lady coming tomorrow. The fireplace has a glass overy it plus a screen. I think I will flank 1 side. Shades may be better but I really love draperies and want all the light I can get. This home is very dark. I considered having a short matching window put in,but the sloped lines look nice in person. I will post tomorrow after the Drapery lady comes and I work awhile.

Also ladies I am going to tackle the laundry room next. Will for sure value your input.

Nancy if you are leaving the top glass open on the one side I don't think the one panel will look right...With this open window on top of right window I think it is very important to do panels on both sides to make it look finished and give the window a very defined separation...

Don't think I am going to leave the upper glass open. It is 745 am here and Marcella Draperies will be here in a little over an hour at 9am. Will keep you ladies posted. Ok ladies. I ordered Hunter Douglas faux white wood blinds for the windows. The Drapery lady didn't say much. Kind of think she likes big jobs. She said Roman shade would be really high up to bring up or down. She felt drapes on both sides. Says she can do it, but hasn't given me an estimate.1 window covering is 105inches the other 130. Approx. Still waiting on rods to be installed. It's hard, as I always want it done now, lol.

Oh my, faux wood blinds are heavier than Roman Shades. You can cancel in 3 days. I think you are rushing and perhaps you should rethink that. Also, Budget Blinds can beat Hunter Douglas pricing all day. Sorry. But I have to be honest here. ;/ Let's talk more tomorrow!

I meant you have 3 days to cancel without penalty. Of course, if that is what you want, then OK. Will the blinds be hung at top of high window? Just not feeling it.

Yes I am trying to get privacy at night by shutting them. They hang them and everything. I hope I didn't goof.

Budget blinds hangs them too and at half the price. :( Sorry, you didn't talk about this earlier, or I would have directed you away from the pricey ones. They all come from the same wholesaler! Oh well, at least you will have it done. Any decision on rod placement and drapes?

I am waiting till blinds are up. I called budget blinds at least I think it was. Everyone told me about them. They didn't make in this length. They referred me to some other company and they did. Prices were cheaper, but I am old, lol and didn't want to measure. Their installation was the sam3. I know it is risky, I hope I like when they are up. I came down with a bad cold, but will get laundry room on soon. I have been in Bed!
