Need advice

I figured a fabric I was planning on using for backing was not 100% cotton, but have proceeded anyway. The fabric is a little stretchy. This is for the ladybug quilt for the orphanage in Africa.

I pieced it with some 100% cotton fabric. I am planning on gluing together to quilt straight lines, so that will help with the stretching while quilting it. Do you think this will work, or am I asking for a mess when I try and quilt? I can rip it off and use some other 100% cotton if I have to, I was just trying to use some fabric my sister had given me. She had made tablecloths for her daughter's picnic wedding reception.
