There are also great photos here on Houzz! You just have to type in what you are looking for and photos will show up. I used Houzz's photos for inspirtation when I started painting and decorating my house a couple of years ago.

Hi Sharon, I have no pictures, the lay out is when you come in the front door you come up 4 steps, to the right is the kitchen, to the left the dinning room and ahead is the living room. we have one window in the front by the dining room and two windows on the wall between dining and living room and bay window in the living room, we have a fireplace to the left of the bay window in the corner. Sadly I say we only have one colour cream throughout the house. Any colour combo would be a great help. Thanking you in advance. Johan

What colors are in your furniture, rugs & curtains?

Yes, sorry, Johan, I wasn't too clear. I wondered, as jck910 did, what the other colours are in your furniture, etc. If you think about what you dislike about the cream and, as Bev said, check out photos on Houzz and other sites of what you do like, it's a good place to start. Even figuring out if you want brighter, cooler, darker, etc. will help you start the process.

Paint colors are very dependent on the natural and artificial light in your spaces. I suggest you go to the paint store and select 3-4 colors you think you like on the paint chips. Pick two shades lighter than you like. They are always darker when you get a whole wall up. Then make sample boards (Sherwin Williams has some great pre-primed boards for this purpose), doing two coats for best color appreciation. Place them in various places in your rooms and look at them at different times of the day, with your furnishings, and that will help determine which ones would be best and which ones you like the best. I would start with a sample of SW Sea Salt, BM Revere Pewter and SW Accessible Beige. Then you can go from there. The Sea Salt looks blue/green/gray in the day and looks a bit more gray at night in most lights. The Revere Pewter is a gray with beige undertones. And the SW Accessible Beige is more beige but has cool undertones. Hope that helps get you on your way.

P.S. Do not paint big splotches on your walls. The existing color will affect the sample colors and you won't get true color. You also can't see in different spots in the space.
