Or maybe I misunderstood.....are you repurposing it for another room in the home? Or is it staying in the laundry? I was assuming it stays there, but if it can move that opens up more possibilities.....

Does it have sentimental value? If not, consider removing the pegboard for reuse on the wall after repainting it with fresh coats of primer and enamel. About $10 worth of pegboard hanging gadgets will make it functional. Sell the remaining piece at a yardsale for scrap.

I'm just using it in the laundry room right now. I am open to any and all ideas. The laundry room is in the back of the house just off the entry from the garage. But the garage is very, very full with stuff right now, so it's not functionally being used. It doesn't have sentimental value, but I have limited time for this project. Honestly, I'd scrap it completely if I don't come up with a good idea for what to use it for.
The gift wrapping station is exactly what I was planning on using it for, but we just moved from 4000 square feet to 1500 square feet, so I have more storage needs than a gift wrapping station right now.

What types of things do you need to store. what rooms are near the laundry room. Things like this can be so cool, or it can become a stressful boondoggle. here are a couple things that come to mind:
home command center-Use the slots on the sides to file mail, binders, clipboards, etc. Hang office homogeneity little gizmos on the pegboard. if you have kids, their backpacks could be stuffed in the shelves and general needs inn the drawers.
Craft center- same idea, different supplies
Toy storage- books in the slots, toys in baskets on shelves and drawers. toys in drawstring bags from pegboard.
Figure out your needs and go for it. plus you MUST paint it and decorate it somehow, just for fun. Please post when you finish it, I can't wait to see it. Let us know if you just junk it too, I will applaud your bravery! Have fun!

Too large for a 1500 sq ft home. Scrap it.

@Diana, the 2nd bath is the only thing close to the laundry where I have this in use, but we have decide to turn one of the screen porches into a sunroom. It's off the kitchen. I work from home, so it will be an office/sitting area. I'm going to hold onto this piece for that room. I was thinking of the art/school/office storage. DEFINITELY plan to paint it. Thanks

If you truly think you will have room for a piece this size, fine. Measure, measure, measure. I think you might be able to get better storage behind closed doors that would serve you better, but of course, your choice. Just measure your future sunroom space and make sure it can handle successfully a piece of that depth. Enjoy! Painting it a great color will be great.
