Big fan of deep drawers. You lose valuable interior square inches with the slide out trays in shelved cabinets, plus the drawers are just easier. Even with the roll out trays, the cabinet door always seems to be in the way, getting banged and knicked as you take out the pans. With drawers, it's all open to view, instantly, with nothing in the way. The only thing for which I prefer a cabinet is for cookie sheets and cutting boards, where they stand vertically between dividers. .

I love deep drawers! I would do all drawers on the stove side of my kitchen if I could.

Did my kitchen last year, all base cabinets have drawers except for sink base. Drawers are the bomb! Be sure to get thick bottoms and glides rated for 75 pounds. You will never regret it.
