Does this sort of door sound proof between the rooms?

We have a master bath off the bedroom with no door. The shower is about 8 yards down the bath hall. Every morning my husband woke me up by showering until, bless his heart, he showers in the other bathroom.
If we hung a barn door, can we sound proof it enough? Mind you, the sound travels all that way and is a soft noise when it gets to me

A barn door would be a good solution to your problem. It will provide roughly the same amount of sound-proofing as a regular door while looking super funky! Good luck with your project.

Sliding doors can carry up to 39STC rating acoustically. However that requires special seal treatment.
