Your kitchen is beautiful

Thanks. Can I share an experience? I wanted the bright white quartzite and my decorator talked me out of it for a number of reasons. First it doesn't hold up well and he said the stark white would be difficult to work with. My basic colors for the past 30 years have been red, blue and green. So he said to incorporate a soft green color because it is more calming that stark white in a sea of white cabinets. We did sea pearl quartzite in a honed finish for the island and I love it. The perimeter is blue stone which looks black/brown as I wanted a soap stone look without all the veining. We then carried the sea pearl "look" up on the wall with the backsplash in a marble called Biltmore from the tile shop. The grouting gets finished this week as my brother and I decided to have a bonding project! Walls are BM cashmere grey which is really a very soft green grey and the ceiling is BM In your eyes blue, cabinets/trim BM decorator white. Guess what, Kirk was 100% correct. My flow blue china looks spectacular in the room and it is so calming. You can put anything in the room and it goes. In this lifetime I would never have selected what he talked me into but I'm so glad he did.

Sorry the island is walnut, floors are tigerwood - a selection I had to make when the rosewood on order went MIA after the tsunami in Southeast Asia.

I think your white on white on white idea is great. The interior designer I work with claims that white is my favorite color! Nothing sets off the play of shadow and light through a space like white surfaces. One thing you may want to consider is making the island top (and possibly cabinets) a different color to differentiate it and make it pop in the sea of white,
