That door swing in the powder room is pretty tight. Consider putting in a pocket door instead. Also, hard to see the clearance dimension between the fridge and the u-shaped peninsula, but that also looks tight. I usually plan for at least 36" for clearance. Oh, and one other thought: I wonder if the kitchen could be reconfigured so that there's a clear walkway from the garage to the kitchen instead of having to go around that corner? When you're unloading groceries from the car, it will be much more convenient.

That is the front door from the carport and the door in the kitchen is to the basement.

I have a concern about walking directly into the kitchen once you open the front door, is that a valid concern? Also was thinking about maybe putting the peninsula on the opposite wall so the entrance is closer to the "center" of the house.

It's not ideal, for sure. But you might not have an option.
