I am considering installing Ozarks (Summit Series). @Naturally Aged Flooring I am trying to find information on the materials used in this floor (base composition, coating type), but cannot find those on the NAF website. Could you please provide some information on that? I would also like to know if any harmful chemicals (VOC, formaldehyde, etc.) are used in the manufacturing process. Have NAF floors passed any certifications for chemical emissions and are NAF floors compliant with the standards set by CARB? Thank you!

@Darina That product has a eucalyptus core.

@Darina I do not recommend Naturally Aged Flooring! They get it from China and do not stand behind their product. Read the Better Business Bureau complaints -which they are not affiliated with -you will see my complaint 10/7/2019 and scrupulous business practices they use!

@Darina, we are highly considering the Ozarks, summit series for our home as well. It checks off all the boxes in terms of color, finish, veneer thickness, etc; but we are concerned about recent complaints as well. We know that the company was bought out in 2018? I think, and since then, there have not been many reviews. (Obviously we saw the BBB reviews, which were not good.) However, our floor dealer tells us that they have had good experiences with NAF and that they consider them to be a reputable company. Within the last year, they have installed NAF in at least 2 local homes (we live in a small town), the floors turned out beautifully, and they have had no complaints We are really close to pulling the trigger... have narrowed it down to NAF or Greyne, Tuscan Sun. We have decided to order a box of each in order to get a better representation of each floor. Good luck with your decision. It’s a tough one, no doubt.

Thank you, @Justsohiker The reviews for NAF were indeed mixed. Our floor dealer also had a generally good opinion of NAF. We ended up going with a different brand at the end (Riva floors). We haven’t received the floors yet so the verdict is still out

Hi there- we had out NAF installed 1 year ago

and we have had no issues with them.

We have the Medallion line color is Castlestone and out installer laid cork down first and the floors over that.

We also were unsure and one year out we are still happy... knock on wood.

I ended up using Cali Bamboo’s Meritage collection European white oak engineered flooring. I believe it had a thicker in the wear layer and the quality is amazing. We are so happy with our decision. No expansion or contraction, and the floors don’t have any signs of scratches or wear and we’ve had them in for almost a year. They are worth checking out!

Those are so beautiful!!!! I’m going to check those out for our next house!

I haven’t had any issues with water or food in the kitchen. If water spills on the hardwoods, I’m good about cleaning it up quickly. Good cleans off easily. Not sure how this flow (or any hardwood) would do if a large about of water sat for an extended amount of time though.

@kadavanz Since hardwood floor isn't 100% waterproof, having a large spill sat for an extended amount of time would not be good for the floor! Therefore, we do advise any spills be properly cleaned up quickly. :)

@adrosen your floor is beautiful! We just ordered/received a box of NAF Ozarks. It is a select European Ash and has no knots whatsoever, which is what we wanted. It is a light color, but the heavy grain of the Ash conveys a warmth that complements the cool color perfectly. It’s a hard color to describe-definitely no red or pink tones. I would describe it best as either a true light brown or maybe a taupe. At any rate it is absolutely gorgeous and we love it! It is exactly what we have been looking for and I think we finally have a winner!

No, it’s a major renovation. We have been in our home for over 26 years and haven’t changed a single thing so we are long overdue! I think the flooring has been by far our hardest decision, due in part to the trend having been predominantly gray and we have always wanted lighter brown tones. Glad to see the color palette changing and it feels good to have finally found something that really speaks to us aesthetically.

@kadavanz, your Cali bamboo floors are really lovely too! I briefly looked at that brand, but we live in a high humidity area. We do plan on adding a whole house dehumidifier though. I’m glad your floors are holding up; they are Indeed very nice looking!

We live in the PNW, so it’s very humid here! That’s why we decided on engineered in this build. They don’t expand and contract like real hardwoods do. We’ve been through all four seasons with them and they haven’t expanded or contracted at all. We’re so happy with the Cali hardwoods.

Cindy B, did you install the NAF Ozarks? If so, any pictures you can share?

We ordered it the end of January to beat the flooring increase in price, and the flooring store from which we ordered agreed to hold it until we are ready to install. We got backlogged in our renovations and just finished 5 weeks of painting! (Renovations are much more time consuming than new builds.). We did bring a box of it home and there was not a single piece in it that was bad. The Ozarks is a select grade ash - it has no knots, and has a beautiful prominent grain. It is a lighter color but doesn’t look “cold” at all. It is absolutely gorgeous and just what we wanted. Hopefully we will have it installed within the next several weeks. I will post pics when we are done. 😁

Sadly, we still have not. We had issues getting other projects finished that needed to be done before the floor goes down. We did finally get our stone ordered for our fireplace, which is the last hurdle before the floor goes down. I hate to even venture a guess when; don’t want to jinx myself anymore. I can’t wait to see the finished product though. I can’t help but look at the flooring we brought in the house months ago as a reminder and I still love it . Am beyond ready.

So, if you get your floor down before we do, please post pics! 😁

@sparklynn. I will try to upload a pic below. We ordered a box and I just pushed the pieces together on the floor. This is pretty true to color. Ignore the mess - we have had lots going on.

@sparklynn This is the same box, pic taken under different lighting or at a different angle (Sorry, I don’t recall). There wasn’t a bad piece in the box. No knots whatsoever. It’s got lots of grain but that’s what we wanted. It’s so clean, and I would describe it as a Light caramel color. Very natural looking. We hunted for a very long time before we found this. I am so glad to see the lighter woods are coming back!

@Justsohiker Thank you so much, that is stunning! What is the texture like when you run a finger over it? Is it really "wirebrushed" (like if you dropped a box of breadcrumbs you'd never get all the little bits out of the crevices again), or smoother?

Hi ...has anyone used NAF Wirebrushed series - Sandy Trail. Really in a bind with our wood floors and this one is available. So trying to decide fast to avoid further delays with our home construction. Any advice would be helpful ..thanks in advance...

@sparklynn, i am so sorry I did not see or respond to your earlier question. i would say there is a little wirebrished feel, but it is mostly smooth feeling to the touch. there are no bevels between the boards which also makes for a beautiful smooth finish. we literally just had them installed this week (they finished today) so I dont know how hard it will be to kept swept, but I am not anticipating any problems with the wirebrushing.

I have a discontinued line of engineered hardwood from Naturally Aged Flooring. I need just one box to do a repair vs replacing the whole floor! Does anyone have a box of the Maple Black Moss, part no: NA-MBM-5, which I can purchase?

How has the Ozarks held up? Cleaning, traffic etc. I was so close to switching to Cali Bamboo vinyl but living in Florida humidity I’m too scared to not go with a more natural product and I still love this floor.

@Jaime Alden, it’s still early, but the floors are holding up perfectly! we do not have pets or small children so traffic is fairly light, but It’s easy to keep clean, feels great to walk on, and looks beautiful! the seams are holding up as well, but we did have both a whole house himidifier and a whole house dehumidifier installed prior to laying the floors. We live in North Carolina and have humid summers and fairly dry winters.

We could not be more pleased. everyone that comes to the house comments on how gorgeous they are. my only delimma has been that NAF says do not use any rubber on these floors, so finding a rugpad that doesn't have rubber and won’t slip has been a challenge. i called NAF for guidance but the representative was not helpful. She suggested that I contact various rugpad companies for their input. ☹️

I do not regret our choice and we are considering putting it in the rest of our home.

@kadavanz, What color did you choose from the Cali Bamboo line of Engineered Hardwood? It looks like maybe Sauvignon Oak, New World Oak, Carmel Valley Oak or Lost Coast Oak?

I was happy to find these have an aluminum oxide finish as I feel we need this with our 3 kids dropping food everywhere and me days later finding a chip under the table left an oil spot (will not do an oiled finish ever again).

@Naturally Aged Flooring I am very close to pulling the trigger on one of your floors but your website doesnt list all the details of the floor (veneer thickness, what the coating is made of, etc) Do you have those specs on Pikes Peak (Summit Series)? I saw you post the specs on Ozarks above - are those specs the same for Pikes Peak? Thank you!!!

@De Cayo, I went with Pikes Peak. I first just ordered 1 box to see how it would look in my home. I love it! It is holding up well to 2 dogs, and it hides the dog hairs so well. The color obviously changes a bit with different lighting.
