Several years ago - may be 8 or 10 or more- we had a pink four-patch chain block exchange on the forum. I kept these blocks hoping for a little girl. No such luck - we stopped at 2 boys :-)

Finally, I put the blocks together for my baby niece who arrived a few weeks early but growing and thriving.

This was also my first free motion quilting project - on a regular sewing machine. It has several missed stitches and stippling that looks like soggy noodles but I don't think my baby niece will care.

I've decided I really love free motion quilting and I'm getting ready to try out another project! I don't know why I was so scared to try it before.
