I really like both the backsplash options. I think the subway tile look is more clean and the diamonds a bit more busy but drama! So what do you feel like looking at for the next 10 years?

I read this again and realized you were doing both. Think it could work since the stove area is sometimes a focal point of the room. Both are nice backsplash options. I really like the dark subway tile.

beautiful materials. will the dark subway tile be taking up a lot of wall space or is the backsplash area small? do you have a lot of natural light? What would you think about doing the subways in a lighter gray( or even the soft white) that's in the diamonds?

The backsplash area is very minimal and I do have a lot of natural light. I went light on just about everything on the first floor and planned on the kitchen being the same, but found lighter grey subway tiles were blending too much between the lighter cabinets and the lighter tones of the countertops. My gut is nagging at me that these my be too dark. They are lighter than they appear in the photos, but still dark. Thanks for the input!!

very nice space. I do like the dark gray and it looks like you have plenty of light. You can see it better in person. maybe get a sample of the gray that matches the diamonds and bring those home to put up? I'm just afraid w/all the different materials going on, it might look a little busy. so hard to tell from the tiny samples. if you can do the stove area and then place a block of the subways next to it, you might get a better idea.

I like your tiles, IMO the upper half of your kitchen needs a hint of the wood tones for balance, the floor and door are beautiful but seem a bit lonely. For instance if the stove hood had been the natural wood tone like the door it would have helped balance them, so I wonder if you could get those tones in a subtle backsplash tile and then especially eyecatching with the range area?

I would do the diamonds everywhere. They are gorgeous, the color is great and I am not doing many kitchens with the "change" of tile behind the stove top, and haven't for several years now. The continuous look is more appealing and longer lasting I believe. But overall, great kitchen so you have to be happy with your vision. Are you getting under cabinet lighting? If so, that might help the darker glass, but I know I would love all diamonds and that color. Matching grout too. It would be stunning.

Opps I just observed you do have the under cabinet lighting. Still would go for the all diamond. Those are so very pretty.

Im staining the door after all the other elements are in place. My pendants and light fixture that will peek out from the pantry are still going in. Those will bring out the darker tones from the flooring. I thought about doing the hood darker, but am really drawn to a calmer/lighter feeling kitchen. The original one was super dark. I love the pictures you shared!

Beautiful kitchen! I vote only use the charcoal gray glass subway tile. It's a beautiful contrast with the cabinets and the floor. If your kitchen was HUGE, I'd say go ahead and do the diamond pattern behind the stove. But, with the glass door fronts in a pattern (beautiful) may compete with the diamond pattern behind the stove. I think there is enough interest in the kitchen to keep it "simple". Sort of like removing one piece of jewelry before you leave the house. (Smile).

I read a bit only, but I agree that the subway is too dark. Seems the contrast isn't needed with beautiful door and flooring and abundant cabinets and glass. What would you think about painting of glass, or too contemporary?

The diamonds have handcrafted look - are they? so that fits the vibe to me - does it? Those, and no more design needed. :)

I have Berwyn counters as well with white cabinets They are stunning. I went with a textured white subway tile and love it. The Berwyn is the show stopper and I didn't want to take away from it with a bold backsplash. My two cents is that a charcoal backsplash may take away from your gorgeous counters, rather than compliment them.
