We are painting the outside of this 1963 rancher this Spring (we have never liked the color of the brick, and prefer the texture of painted brick). The house is in the Southeast, and we have a temps ranging from 15° F to 110° F, almost always humid. I'm sure our painter knows what he is doing, but I wanted to double check. Should we prime and/or condition this brick before painting? If so, what product do you recommend? Also, what is the best type of paint for exterior masonry?

I want to test some samples; should I print before painting test swatches?
