I'd return both. If I had to choose one though, return the rug. The coffee table might look better with a different rug.

I think the problem with the rug is that it's too yellow/cream and no gray..Your sofa is cooler gray and the rug is warmer..If you can find a rug that has some gray in it. I actually like to have the rug blend with the floor:)

1) Return both.

2) Get a rug that matches the grey color of your couch with some splashes of white in it.

3) Get the Noguchi table with glass top shown below

Confirmed! The coffee table looks much better with a different rug:

The coffee table is very cute but I do not believe it fits because, the top surface draws the eye and almost makes it like it was the centerpiece. At least from the quasi aerial view of this picture, sorry, glass top needed IMHO.

The rug should contrast with your flooring & complement your sectional.

The style of the dining table will certainly work with your sofa. It would be helpful to see the space from every angle to make more specific recommendations. Right now it doesn't look well arranged. Are you keeping the red chair?

I have to say I think West Elm really missed the boat on their newest collection of rugs.

It seems like you need a different rug. Something with a little color or flare might do your new purchase some justice. We've added some designs for you to look at here with great rugs.
