help with a coffee table selection

trying to piece together this traditional/transitional/little bit eclectic dining room and living room. I need help on deciding what type of coffee table to look for- style, painted, stained??? the one shown here is just a place holder but perhaps should consider it too if I paint it...I was picturing something a little more rough around the edges. Also looking for guidance on dining room chandelier. this one will come down for sure as well as removal of the decorated plate on the ceiling. The table under the chandelier is going away and will be replaced by the one in the image with the white legs. Any advice is much appreciated!

Well assuming a couple things, that you're furniture is staying (except for that coffee table) and that you are living in a well developed area (mature trees) or possibly and acreage even?... I have a couple ideas to throw at you.

Firstly, LOVE the new dining table you've picked out. It's a wonderful compliment to the bright and airy look of that room, especially with the white wainscoting. It would be nice to continue this aged look into the sitting area as well. Depending on time and budget you can make a table that really suits the room and allows you to control the tones. Or if you just want to make a purchase you can go to Wayfair and grab something like this...

Simply use some creative decor items to tie in the colors of your furnishings!

Now looking to the chandelier in the dining room, I can get past the incredible view outside that window, so I'm going to suggest trying to bring a little of that outdoor beauty indoors as well. Keeping a more natural theme look at adding a twig chandelier (either natural or white could work).

Or if you rather go with something less whimsical, I would stay with somethings that isn't too heavy and back to the lighter color tones. Somethings like this piece from www.horchow.com . Hope these ideas help and good look on the makeover!!

The current draperies have the appearance of bed sheets. It would be better to have something lined if possible. These are from Ballard Design

To coordinate with that selection I have added a ceramic lamp with a white shade. If you don't buy a new lamp, at least get rid of that yellow shade.
